The former US president, Joe Biden, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, a statement from his office said on Sunday. According to the statement, the cancer has spread to his bones.
The prostate cancer diagnosis was made on Friday following his report regarding urinary symptoms. His report led the doctors to find a small nodule on his prostate gland. Biden and his family members are reviewing treatment options as the cancer is of a more aggressive form.

The Former Vice-President, Kamala Harris, who worked under Biden, wrote on her X handle that she and her husband Doug Emhoff are keeping the Biden family in their prayer. Harris also wrote that Joe is a fighter and she knew he would face that challenges with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that had always defined his life and leadership.
The former US President, Barack Obama, who served as US President for 8 years with Biden as his deputy, said that he and his wife Michelle were thinking of the Biden family. He also added that nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe. Obama was certain that Biden would fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace.

According to the US CDC (Centres for Disease Control and Prevention), 13 out of 100 men have a chance to develop prostate cancer at some point in their lives. The CDC also says that age is a significant factor for prostate cancer.
