Mike Evans is Out For the Buccaneers vs. Ravens following suffering Hamstring injury

2 Mins read

Mike Evan will miss the remainder of Monday night’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens following suffering a hamstring injury.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered a major setback during the Monday Night Football game against the Ravens when Mike Evans re-injured his hamstring. Evans was suffering from a lingering hamstring issue. While attempting to catch a pass in the second quarter of the match, he re-aggravated his injury. He was visibly left in pain as he left the ground, leaving the Buccaneer’s offence without one of the major playmakers for the remainder of the match.

This latest issue concerns Evans’ durability and the Buccaneers’ offensive depth. The team prepares to face some of the toughest opponents in the coming weeks.

Evans, who earlier in the night caught his 100th career receiving touchdown, was trying to make a play on a pass from Baker Mayfield when he hit the ground holding the back of his leg. He quit the game and didn’t return.

Evans had one 25-yard touchdown reception before quitting the game. It gives the Buccaneers their first score of the game to take an early 7-0 lead. Evans has not missed a game this season, but a hamstring injury kept him out for much of last week’s win over the New Orleans Saints. He missed Thursday and Friday’s practices. The head coach, Todd Bowless., designated him as a game-time decision on Saturday.

Bowless said on Saturday that Evans did some things that day that were encouraging. He also added that they would see how the next two days went and how he felt.

Bowless said that there was not an exact moment that Evans suffered the hamstring injury, but rather that his hamstring has been ‘nagging’ him across the year. He declared that now he will be out for Monday’s matchup. The Buccaneers can only hope it won’t keep him sidelined for a longer time.

Evans, who is one of the most consistent wide receivers of the past decades, had missed nine games over the previous 10 seasons. He played all 17 games a season ago and scored 1,255 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

Evans is one of Mayfield’s favorite targets and his leaving came at a time when the Buccaneers were getting much more whatever they wanted in the passing game. Because of his departure, Mayfield has thrown two interceptions. Following sustaining the injury, Evans walked off the field to the locker room on his power.

However, Tampa Bay Buccaneers have other options including Chris Godwin, one of the NFL’s top receivers. Indeed, Evans is a top guy to replace.
