UK local elections voting: Live results and latest news

2 Mins read

UK election results have started coming in from the local elections and by-elections. A massive crowd deserves sincere thanks for the work they have performed in the Liberal Democrat campaigns.  The politicians, councillors from Labour, the Tories, and Reform UK are observing curiously in the first major test of opinion for Sir Keir Starmer’s government.

The Reform says that they are ahead of Labour only by four votes, while a full recounting has been demanded in the by-election in Runcorn and Helsby in Cheshire. The full recount is underway after just four votes are thought to distinguish between Reform UK and Labour.

The parliamentary by-election was called following the MP Mike Amesbury knocking a constituent in the street. Earlier this year, he was handed a predicted prison sentence on appeal. However, based on sources, Reform’s Sarah Pochin is only ahead by four votes of her Labour competitor, Karen Shore.

The returning professional of the by-election said that due to the close proximity of the parties, they have agreed to perform a complete recount of the ballot papers. He also added that it came as votes were being counted in council areas across England.

Arron Banks, the lost Reform candidate for West of England mayor, said that Bristol liked Banksy after all.

Reform is looking to achieve the mayoralties of Greater Lincolnshire and Hull. Hundreds of councillors are in the 1,600 seats up for grabs, while Tori is experiencing great losses.

Arron Banks, the prominent Brexiteer, said that his second place in the West of England mayoral election displayed that Reform had an epic night. Banks stated that these were where they were least likely to win.

Banks also added that he won his area of South Gloucestershire by 7,000 votes. He added, saying, There is a tidal wave going on in the UK at the moment. They are going to take back their country.

Labour has won the West of England Mayoral election with 25 per cent of the vote. Helen Godwin received 51,197, and Ros Jones has won the UK election by 23,805 votes to Alexander Jones’s 23,107.

The UK election results display a drop of 11 per cent in Labour votes and a rise of 21 per cent from Labour to Reform UK.

A Labour spokesperson stated that by-elections are always difficult for the party in government. Voters are still rightfully afraid of the state of the country after 14 years of failure. He also added that the voters are expecting the government to move faster with the change plan.
