Everything We Know About Oblivion Remastered Before Its Presumed Release This Week

2 Mins read

Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered: Are you trying to find out what we know about Oblivion Remake? You’re at the correct place, then.

In addition to being one of the worst-kept secrets in contemporary gaming, Oblivion Remastered is a remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, an open-world role-playing game that was first released for the PC and Xbox 360 in 2006.

Then, in 2007, it arrived on the PS3. Bethesda, the game’s developer, gained widespread recognition thanks in large part to the original Oblivion.

Although The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, its absurdly popular sequel, would eclipse Oblivion’s accomplishments years later, Oblivion was a groundbreaking game at the time and continues to be regarded as such.

Oblivion Remastered is expected to be released during this week, which is the week starting April 21, 2025, according to leaks.

It’s important to note that Tuesdays or Fridays are when the majority of games release. The remaster was supposed to be a “shadow drop”—a surprise release that takes everyone by surprise, which is why it hasn’t been published. However, it’s a little late for that now!

Once more, Oblivion Remastered is anticipated to be released for the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, according to leaked promotional materials. It’s also important to note that if the rumours are accurate, Oblivion Remastered will be available immediately on Xbox Game Pass.

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is the official title of this game, therefore, it stands to reason that it is a remaster.

The leaks, however, make it quite evident that this is more of what we would normally refer to as a remake. It has undoubtedly been redesigned with a new engine and updated graphics; it is unquestionably more than just the original Oblivion with improved resolution.

According to leaks, Bethesda’s Creation Engine, which is an improvement on the outdated Gamebryo Engine used in the original Oblivion, is not featured in Oblivion Remastered. Rather, it is believed that Oblivion Remastered uses Unreal Engine 5.

The exact meaning of this engine update is unknown at the time of writing. It is not known if this is a comprehensive, one-to-one recreation that is based on the original Oblivion’s code or if it is a completely new reimagining. But one thing is certain: it will look lovely.

When is the official release date for Oblivion Remastered?

Once more, Oblivion Remastered is slated to be a shadow drop, thus, the official announcement will probably occur as soon as it’s offered for sale. If nothing else, it will all take place on the same day this week. It will cost approximately $69.99 or £59.99, but there’s a potential that it will be released for less money at $49.99 or £39.99.
