Jesy Nelson Launches 10,000-Euro Reward Appeal After Car Stolen with Twins’ Medical Equipment

2 Mins read

Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson has launched an urgent appeal after her car was stolen from outside her home in Essex. The 34-year-old revealed that the vehicle contained vital hospital equipment used to care for her twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, who have spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The theft sparked concern across the UK, with fans and neighbours urged to keep a close eye out for the missing car.

Police believe the black Land Rover Defender was taken from Nelson’s driveway in Brentwood in the early hours of Sunday morning, around 3 a.m. The vehicle’s registration plate is JJ73SSY. The singer took to Instagram within hours to share a short video and message, asking anyone who had seen or heard anything to contact her or the police. She also offered a 10,000 euro reward for information that leads to the recovery of the car.

The reason for the high-profile appeal is the medical equipment inside the vehicle. Nelson’s twins rely on a specialist hospital kit linked to their SMA treatment, and the loss of the car has left the family without key items used in their daily care. Social media posts from the singers show genuine distress, with Nelson saying she is “devastated”  and pleading with anyone who may have seen the Defender to come forward.

Essex Police have confirmed that they are treating the case as a serious theft and are already carrying out checks with local CCTV and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) systems. Officers are also asking garage workers, parking attendants, and residents in Brentwood and nearby areas to report any suspicious activity or sightings of a black Defender matching the description. The force has urged people not to approach suspects but to pass on details to the non-emergency number or via online reporting.

Members of the public have begun sharing Nelson’s appeal on social media, tagging local community groups and neighbourhood watch pages. Many have expressed sympathy for the singer, stressing that the theft goes beyond a simple car crime and directly affects the health and safety of two young children. Online petitions and local message boards in Essex have also seen an increase in posts offering practical help, from sharing dash cam footage to driving extra laps around the area in case the car is spotted.

The Land Rover Defender remains missing, and Nelson has not confirmed whether any arrests have been made. The singer has asked fans to continue sharing information and not to spread rumours, reminding people that every small detail could help the police. The appeal serves as a reminder of how even high-value celebrities can be hit by doorstep crime and how crucial community vigilance is in tracking down vehicles—especially when vulnerable children are involved.
